Cibolo Canyons
All Cibolo Canyons homes are SAWS-Certified WaterSaver Homes. Dual flush toilets, high-efficiency showerheads, hot-water-on-demand, drought-tolerant landscaping and specialized irrigation controllers help save an estimated 60,000 gallons of water per year per home according to San Antonio Water System.Over 800 acres of Cibolo Canyons is dedicated to open space. The community’s environmental management is the most extensive in the state.
JW Marriott
Interior walls are supported by recycled steel studs versus traditional wood studs. For each ton of steel recycled, 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,000 pounds of coal, and 40 pounds of limestone are saved. The resort will feature low-flow showerheads and toilets, CFLs throughout, smart air-conditioning (shutting down when balcony doors open), low VOC products such as paint and glue, and a water-reducing linen program.
TPC Golf Courses
Courses feature a closed loop water system that will catch water run-off to be reused on the courses. In the words of Tim Finchem, commissioner of the PGA TOUR, “These will be the most ecologically-friendly courses built in the United States.” The 36-hole, PGA TOUR golf facility is designed to be certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.
